The Sleep Consultant’s advice is not intended to be a substitute for medical advice or treatment. Always seek the advice of your doctor or another qualified health practitioner regarding any matters that may require medical attention or diagnosis and before following the advice and using the techniques described in your package.
Reliance on any information provided by The Sleep Consultant is solely at your own risk. The Sleep Consultant’s liability (if any) is limited to the consulting fee paid by you to her, and in no event will she be liable to you for any other claim, losses, or damages.
While The Sleep Consultant endeavours to help you get your child sleeping through the night and napping well (where applicable), she cannot guarantee that the customised sleep plan will work for all children. The level of success for your child to be sleeping successfully is significantly enhanced by following the recommended sleep solutions written and spoken about for your child by The Sleep Consultant.
Not following the plan or only selecting components of the plan will reduce the likelihood that your child will be successfully sleeping. Similarly, in a family environment, it is crucial that all family members involved with your child’s sleeping follow the plan (mum, dad, grandparents, helpers and/or nannies).
All packages include a free initial consultation.
I’m happy to answer any queries about the packages, so please email me.
By using the website or by purchasing any packages, you agree to my Terms and Conditions, so please read them on the website.
Please note that all correspondences will be answered as soon as possible.
Urgent telephone calls can be taken within an hour, or after 8pm but are charged at double the rate.
Responses may not be immediate if the consultant is with a client.
As soon as you call/email me to share your problem, I can begin to help. My package begins with a diary and questionnaire which will enable me to assess your child’s sleep pattern. Identifying the problem is the initial step to recommending a solution. I can then design a plan that reflects your child’s developmental stage and age, family attitudes, styles and dietary needs.
Please note: Being late for the start of an appointment will not change the end time. Consulting sessions paid for in advance must be taken within 6 months of the date of booking after which the fee is forfeited.
Cancellation & Rescheduling
You must give a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment otherwise the full session fee is payable. In exceptional circumstances, I may need to rearrange a booked consulting session. In those instances, you will be given 24 hours’ notice where practical. Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond your control such as illness, I am happy to reschedule your appointment, subject to availability within a four week period.

Safe Swaddling Tips
The art of swaddling babies is not new; in fact, it’s an age-old practice. It offers security to transition life outside the womb and helps prevent moving arms or legs that can set off the startle reflex. Most importantly, it keeps babies snug and warm until their internal temperature develops.
Start swaddling from birth, as at 2 or 3 months, the period where the risk of SIDS is greatest. Swaddle your baby in a thin, lightweight cotton or muslin sheet or shawl, not a heavy blanket or a thick sheet. Swaddles with Velcro or zippers help ensure security too.
To keep sleep consistent and familiar, swaddle every naptime and bedtime. See to it that the baby’s head is not covered and don’t swaddle about the shoulders. Head lifting and turning is important to avoid suffocation.
Swaddle your baby firmly but not too tightly—although it should be snug, there should still be room for a hand to slide in. Use swaddling techniques that ensure your baby has room to move their hips and kick with their legs. The baby’s legs should be able to fall into a frog’s natural leg position. Show others caring for your baby how to swaddle safely.
Check your baby’s temperature every now and then to make sure that they are not too hot. Be mindful of the weather when dressing your baby to prevent them from overheating.
Babies sleep better when swaddled. Just make sure to position them on their back to sleep, not on their side or front. As soon as the baby starts to roll over on their side or tummy, stop swaddling. They will need to use their hands and arms freely to adjust their position.
If you co-sleep with your baby, it is also safer not to swaddle as bedclothes are enough to keep them warm. They might also be unable to move their arms and legs to alert you when you are too close to them.
“If your baby is beautiful and perfect, never cries or fusses, sleeps on schedule and burps on demand, an angel all the time, you’re the grandma.”
- Theresa Bloomingdale
Feedback About My Services
“Rachel is our Mary Poppins nanny. Our 3 year old daughter kept waking and calling “mummy”. Rachel talked to her about how important it is not to disturb her Mummy’s sleep. And found ways of making her more comfortable including pictures of me in her bedroom and a book under her pillow if she cannot sleep. Now we both have pretty much uninterrupted sleep.
- Jo, Parent of Amber and Leela

- Leora mother to Arya
“Rachel provided empathetic and structured advice tailored to our toddler’s specific sleep problems. Rachel took the time to offer a long list of techniques; we picked the ones that would work best for our family and our daughter is generally now more settled at night.
Thanks Rachel for your understanding and guidance.”
- Louise mum to Amber
“Rachel came to us recommended through a friend. We were having a tough time with our second baby girl. After having an easy ride with our first we found ourselves in unfamiliar territory. They say you don’t get two the same and we really didn’t. After six months of sleepless nights Rachel’s adoptable methods really helped us get through the night. We would highly recommend her services. She’s great!”
Suzi, mummy to Eva and Liilie

What a difference a week makes, you are the sleep queen.''
